The 4.0 Swap was chump change compared to this - Look inside...

lol fair enough, it's probably still pretty nasty in there. the upper intake will be not problem I can pull it off in a few minutes and run over to Erics shop and use the parts washer. the lower intake poses a bigger problem bk it would take all day to get it apart and the gaskets are pretty spendy, thats what I was shooting for with the seafoam was to clean the lower intake. The fuel rail which is like a spacer between the upper and lower intake I actually got a nylon brush and a pan of gasoline and cleaned, the varnish on the inside was baked on there and still wouldn't come off very well but I got the outside squeaky clean as well as the ports for the injectors.

that was a job I didn't mind to much but it didn't go very well. we got it finished and fired it up and found one of the new orings I put on the injector blew out. the girl at the parts store(who is pretty cute and a family friend) sold me the wrong damn orings, when I took them out they were all brittle and torn up. so Heath ran to the parts store which is like 2 blocks away and picked up the actual injector seal kit, but we had to take the whole damn thing all the way apart again. it runs a lot better but I think it was that vacum hose more than anything.

and Heath come on there is like an inch on the ground, this winter sucks I was really looking forward to some snow wheeling, up by websters damn is closed now so the snowmobilers can ride in peace, thats why I get involved with land use stuff all the time, its lame that they have literally thousands of miles of trails and we are sol. Eric and I were talking about having the snake river offroaders feb run at my dads house if there is enough snow bk there is nowhere else to go in the winter. Im sure Rookie knows that feeling, the further east you go the less public lands are avail to wheel on.

just went out cruising around in the bdos, I think I fixed the problem bk it runs way better then it did. pulled the codes though and they are still there, guess I need to clear them and see if they come back, I didn't think obd1 stored codes like that. plus this code reader im using is a pile of crap, just a parts store cheapy but it does tell me the codes so I guess I shouldn't ***** to much, oh well ill get it figured out.

getting ready to do some exhaust on this thing, I used the exhaust that was on my 2.9 so unfortunately it sounds like the 2.9, this must be remedied! it had a dynomax muffler on it but it was rusted out and only 2" on the muffler so here is the basis for my new exhaust system, its a street strip muffler from summit,

it is 2 1/4" inch inlet and outlet, my cats both have 2 1/4" so it will be the same size pipe all the way through. the plan is to just put the muffler directly behind the 2nd cat with just enough tube to get the muffler and a clamp on it, then straight and dump right in front of the rear axle, simple and it will be out of the way of everything but still use the stock heat sheild. Ive got to get my welder back from my buddy but that should be tonight, after that its exhaust building time.

Got the exhaust done, sounds pretty good. Drove a few miles to my old mans house and the gd injector started leaking everywhere again. Guess ill have to go out there tomorrow and change them out again, im getting really sick of this stupid injector problem.

Well i got the injectors changed out, i pulled all the injectors out and installed them in the rail first, and then installed the assembley into the intake with vaseline as the lubricant. So far so good, went out into the woods yesterday and i let my wife drive the bdos. She did pretty well almost rolled it descending a hill though, started sliding so she got scared and hit the brake, back tire came up in the air lol, we came out of it ok though.

On a seperate fun note the shaft for my doubler should be on the way and in my hand in the next few days. Im looking forward to getting to work on it and seeing what it will do w some lower gears in it.

Can't wait, but it's going to test that d30 to the limits...and then some.
How's the gas leak doing, hopefully not doing?

Don't take it apart yet... Gotta change the oil in the General Motors Crap....

Too late, sorry guess youll have to get ur hands dirty.

Its good to go on the fuel leak, runs so far

Its open and i dont have a really super powerful engine, hopefully it doesnt break to much. It is going to get a d44 prob next winter though, chromo axles, high steer and good ujoints, along w probably 5.13 gears, its all a dream up till it happens though

Son of a... You know a fat guy can't squeeze under that damn rig...

I only say rig when something is cool, that ghetto ass abomination you bought doesn't deserve a Jon Anderson oil change man! take it to walmart, it and its goofy 20" rims haha. jk man bring it over and ill do all the work for you as usual, the bdos is moveable.

After you installed the injectors, did ya give the vasolene back to Heath?

Classic

Welds ?

yeah he welded it and machined the welded face off, just trying to make it look good, it appears that he beveled in quite a ways, it looks strong for sure. I really need to give a big thanks to Rick C (broncobra) for the machine work, couldn't have done it without you buddy, or done it at all bk I didn't do any of the work haha.

And from one Rick to another Rick, Thanks for helping him out.

got a little crzy with the sawzall and grinder last night, left a big gaping hole in the passenger compartment. now im using my very poor sheetmetal skills to fill the holes, im seriously considering cutting the whole thing and out and making new fenderwells out of some new steel, it would look a whole lot better, as of now im just welding in random peices of metal and it looks like ass. its pretty strong but id rather do it 2x and be happy with it then do it 1x and hate it forever, guess I can redo it when I do the boatsides. this was really a necessary job though for when I put 35s on it, its going to need all the clearance I can get.

the doubler is going to wait until my buddy Eric gets back from KOH, lucky ******* gets to go down for 2 whole weeks, wheel the hammers trails in horton then watch all the races and qualifiers down there, im sure he is having a blast as I type this message. He was pretty excited about the whole doubler sitch so ill wait for him, there are plenty of other things I can do on it without him anyway. here is a pic of the cut I did on the back of the bII, pretty ragged right now ill go over it with the grinder after im done filling the huge gap.
