The 4.0 Swap was chump change compared to this - Look inside...

called ballistic fab on tuesday and they said my coils buckets and retainers would be shipped this week, well got home from work today and no shipping confirmation, guess ill never order from those guys again. they make some epic products but man their customer service sucks, just no follow through on what they say they are gonna do, thankfully i still have my top link and panhard bar to build, id hate to be stuck doing nothing on it bk of them. oh well guess there is lots of work to be done, hopefully i get much much further on it this weekend.

Starting to really take shape.
Like to see a front on shot or at least when the panhard bar is done. Keep in mind that the panhard bracket is really going to put stress at the connecting points. The bracket for the panhard at frame, what idea do you have for it's design? And how about the angle of the PH bar in relation to the drag link coming off the pitman arm? Some strange things happen if those angles are not near the same including if they are so steep.
What truck did that axle come out of again please?

Yeah the panhard is going to have some pretty beefy mounts. When suspension design was done i input my draglink dimensionsand panhard and it came out looking really good. Again measuring and placing the mounts where i knew they would work. Just got to cut some of the stock engine crossmember out lol. The axle is a bit of a mystery, its a low pinion dana 30 with the non disco and bigger ujoints, im pretty sure its out of a grand cherokee but im not 100%

That D30 could be out of a LATE 98 or newer XJ, or even a TJ. Our old 98 XJ had the axle that you are describing.

Called ballistic again, they said my stuff is on the cut list, so at least my order is moving somewhere, hopefully i have my coil buckets by new years lol

i think that gusset should about do it for the top link, it is coming out really nice, asked Rookieshooter for ideas for the panhard mount on the frame end, i see i have an IM waiting so im sure he didn't dissapoint. After thats done im actually waiting on ballistic for my coil buckets, they better hurry up, im getting antsy. here is a look at the completed painted driver side set up, ill get a front on shot when i get the panhard in.

Thanks man im excited to see it coming together myself. Talked to ballistic dave this morning he is overnighting my stuff to me and throwing a tshirt in with the bunch, should have it monday. From all the stuff ive seen i kind of expected him to be a jerk but he seemed to be cool and own up to the mistake. Hope i have that stuff soon it will be nice to get this thing rollin

screwed up with my steering, the tie rod end that connects the other steering rod to the drag link hits the coil mount when i turn passenger bk i move the axle to far forward, 6" in total. the fix in this instance is going to be to drill the hole in the draglink and weld in a tapered insert so i can move the tie rod to the outside, if i do that i can steer lock to lock with no problem.

Hope you can get fixed OK. I'm thinking that since you moved the axle that far forward that the pitman arm now has the drag link coming off at a more acute angle and that it may not turn the steering knuckles as much even if it does go lock to lock. Then again I might not be picturing this right.

no it turns the wheel just fine to the driver side, the only problem is that the tre that connects the tie rod to the drag link contacts the coil/trackbar mount when turning passenger. the tie rod connects to the drag link on the axle side of the drag link, so if i flip it to the outside or opposite of the axle then it won't contact the coil mount and it will turn all the way.

ballistic dave came through on his promise to have the stuff to me by yesterday, showed up from a very long day at work to a box containing my adjustable coil buckets. Pretty stoked on them, they appear to be really high quality and should work great in my application. My only concern is the bracket that welds on to the frame rail is designed to sit on a flat surface paralell to the other bracket, im thinking i may have to modify the frame to get them to work. i need to go get some bolts then ill bolt them together and see how much wiggle room i actually have.

Spring mounts

Glad you finally got your mounts, awesome product, but wouldn't it be strange if you ever ordered something for a B2 and it just fit perfectly and had all the hardware and didn't interfere with the operation of vital components, course I'm only dreaming.....it's only a dream.

im thinking i may have to modify

God I love it when I hear talk like that ;) Next you'll be modifying the modified.

Progress

New toys are sweet...almost time to go out and play!

decided i needed to cut the frame to smithereens on the driver side, the bolt for the steering box was contacting the coil when it was in place, but its good bk its going to give me the oppurtunity to get the mounts for the coil buckets on an even keel.
