woah that looks pretty nice....

Yes you can run duals on an 3rd gen. I had a true dual setup with two mufflers and 2.5" piping back on my 03' V8 Mountaineer. Actually done by a Porsche shop that worked on some our past P-cars. Other's have done so as well. Right now I actually had trouble finding a place that would do my 00' V8 Mountianeer, finally found a shop that knows how to bend piping and has done quite a few Explorers/Mountaineers.

I like those tips though, clean looking.

His is a 4th (updated frame and such) so that may not still work for a true dual...

Beach,
You cannot run duals on a generation 4 (2006). With the suspension and where the gas tank is located it just cannot be done. The only way duals could be run is with side pipes. I took mine to the best exhaust specialists in Jersey. Can't be done.www.mufflex-performance.com.

X Deacon,
Yes, you are right. I also checked in florida and was told the same thing. There is a tunnel so to speak on the left side just to run the exhaust through. I was very disappointed as I wanted the 8 hp the duals would have given me like the 300hp mustang.

KASWAN

I was hoping to go dual too. On my 02' Mountaineer they said it couldn't be done either but I was able to get duals. The Mountaineer has space to fit the pipe on the passenger side though. Well, my advice is get a wider pipe. The factory pipe seems so small. I feel a little more giddy-up with my new exhuast set-up, plus it sounds sweet!

Fits great and sounds sweet.
