Does anybody know how to fix this???? Can I replace a fuse, beat it on something, throw it in the dishwasher, anything?

This is now the third CD changer (95 explorer) that I've had in 2 years, I've been getting them off Ebay, but this is getting expensive.

I know someone will say get an aftermarket player/changer, but come on, there's got to be an easy way to fix this problem, if it happens as often as it does.

Thanks much guys.

oh dear. mine some times comes up with the message 'NO DJ" which i thought was a little wierd i just unplug it slide the cartoushe thingy in and out (the bit that holds the cds) and it works fine i bought mine off this forum maybe i got lucky or maybe the comunity here is a liitle more dilligent about selling crap

uuuh take it in to ford... they will fix it, but its more expensive than a new setup

For the unit that says "No CD" - replace your magazine. There are "early" and "late" versions of the 6 disc magazine for this changer. Can't recall for SURE, but I think the early model had a prefix of "F57F", and the later one "F77F" ("F5" means 1995 Model Year, "F7" is 1997 Model Year; a "7" in the 3rd digit indicates "Ranger/Explorer" vehicle line).

The later magazines seem to have fewer jamming issues. Once the DJ has attempted to stuff two discs into one slot, the magazine is ruined. Take a look at the open slots in your empty magazine - the edges should all be straight and parallel - if they are uneven, it has likely had a jam before, and will be more likely to jam again.
