The Outside Temp sensor

This is little problem l know, l'm looking for the outside temp sensor. Can someone please tell me where this can be found on my explorer, The read out shows -40 all the time however the compess is working Ok !

The thermometer sensor is attached to the radiator frame behind the grill.
 






strange I could have sworn it was in the rear view mirror assembly...
 






I thought the same thing, that it was in the rear view mirror assembly...

If the sensor was in mirror assembly it would register the inside cabin temp, not the outside temp.
 






I can confirm it's attached to the radiator frame behind the grill
 






I also confirm it is attached to the radiator behind the grill. It's matte black.

I got the exact same problem with my overhead console. I installed mines myself as my Explorer didn't come with one originally. I installed everything perfectly, except I didn't know how to splice some wires to my Temp Sensor and install it into the radiator bay area, so I also have a read-out of -40 C/F. Where exactly do you install the temp sensor in the "behind the grill/radiator area" exactly?

I can confirm the confirmation.
It is behind the grille.
 






Grill location confirmed also, just wish it was adjustable, mine reads 4 degrees high
