Well the transmission in my 97 Sport went a few days ago (81k MI) 2,200 bucks later im putting in a brand spankin new one warenteed for the life of the truck. So what do you think guys keep the car or sell it and get a loan to buy another car. Honestly I love my X but in 2 years i'll be in grad school and i just want something i can count on to run and not give me crap. Also gas in San Diego right now costs 2.35 a gallon. So what do you think keep the X or sell it for 6,500 minus 2,200= 4,300 and get a civc or camry or something?

-Suggestions?
:( :(

You already got a brand spanking new tranny so you might as well enjoy it and get your $2200 money's worth. FYI- if you want an unbiased opinion on whether to keep the X or not, you are asking in the wrong place. LOL! Just a hint. ;)

not really, i'll tell him, hey if you want reliable and cost effective, then hey go honda or go home. i'm very very close to getting one myself, gas today is up at $2.20 here in good ol' indiana...a bit too high for my blood, we'll see if it stays there

see thats the balance i love the x but the cost to run it might be too much. Im leaning towards keeping it because hey now at least i know im not going to have to throw down cash for transmission problems

your tranny is warrentied for the life of the truck??? wheere did you get that from?

I WILL loose respect for you if you get a civic

If you're trading only for the gas mileage, don't do it. It would take many, many years of fuel savings to make up the difference in vehicle prices. If you like the Sport better than a Honda, I say keep it. :burnout:

Leon's Transmissions supposed to be the best place in Los Angeles. I could have had one rebuilt for 1200 but they put in Japanese parts and stuff. I figure if im gunna keep the car pay more once and put in the best! pretty sure im gunna keep it now, car come out of the shop tomorrow i'll have to ask about how extensive the waranty is, I dunno the specifics but its supposed to be really long

Japanese parts?

oooooook
