I had mentioned this before in a thread, and I thought this was a good time to take a pic so people could see what I meant since I was throwing a thermostat in my ex today anyways.

So without further ado, the aspirin trick... sorry about the quality of the pictures.... I spilled antifreeze all over my phone, so I had to take pics with my mommy's old phone

You just gently press open the thermostat and insert an aspirin, now the aspirin may break a little, but all you want is for it to hold the thermostat open just barely. This way, when you are putting new coolant into your vehicle, it will circulate through your thermostat at first leaving you with no air pockets. The aspirin will quickly and harmlessly dissolve into your coolant within seconds, so no worries afterward. No more squeezing radiator hoses or any of that other stuff, plus as an added bonus, your block fills faster since you have a relief for the air to bleed out while you are adding antifreeze to your radiator, so you generally can fill it all in one shot this way.

Anyways, hope this helps everyone, I would have posted this in the tips and tricks section, but I guess that forum is closed.

Good idea & a great tip. Wish you posted this a month ago when I did mine (still squeezing the upper hose)

Ok, that is insanely awesome... :D
