Now that my Exporer is up and running i'm starting to look for some improvements as far as mpgs etc etc. I've started out w/ looking at the intake, i'm thinkin about going with a 3" aluminum tube similar to the Ifab kit w/ a larger TB & a cone filter. I've been doing some searching and have found a couple 70 & 75mm TBs. The problem is that it looks like I can get the 75mm for less by about $40-$50.

Now I've searched the forums but haven't really found any conclusive posts one way or another but it seems like the general consensus is 70mm is better.

anyone who is running one or the other care to share any input?

Nothing to be gained by going that big unless you have a built engine. I have the BBK 66mm. You'll get some throttle improvement & a free revving engine & a small high RPM gain.

For the intake, expect the same. Combined it isn't a great improvement in power. Don't fool yourself, this isn't a hot rod. Your just not going to get the gains you would think.

just for the record the bbk 66mm is the biggest tb made for the 4.0 OHV so

well that is slightly embarassing..
lol

could a Mod please delete the thread?
