My question would be is it actually worth putting on?

Or would it be wiser to spend the money on a larger TB?

Ditto

Great for carbs, zilch for EFI

[hijak/] and buy the way how do those cherrybombs sound 91ex? I thought they might be a little raspy with the strait through setup.[\hijak]

I thought about adding one but after searching on here I became convinced that they are 99% worthless.

Like the guys above said, go with the larger throttle body. It is a much more realistic mod than a spacer gymic.

I agree...a TB spacer in the 4.0 is worthless.

On the larger TB topic...
Does anyone have a modified TB for a 4.0? If so, what size bore, manufacturer, quality, cost?

BBK makes some I think there 70mm or maybe 66mm I'm not sure but other people have modified there own by cutting down the center shaft but you'll have to do a search for that one.

My muffler is not the glasspack it looks similar to a flowmaster and its really deep and not raspy at all like I thought it would be, I've had a flowmaster and a magnaflow but this one takes the cake, I also mounted it as far back as possible so it wouldnt be too loud in the cab.

summit has the bbk for cheapest I think its like 212$ just put in your vehicle and go to air/fuel delivery section.

Thanksfor the TB info 91exploreron37.

What brand is your muffler? Can you post a video on You Tube or here of what your muffler sounds like? You Tube has some video clips of Explorers (4.0) with different types of mufflers. I personally like the super 40 sound on the 4.0 X.

I read the throttle body thing but would that really make any difference? He just cut out a piece of shaft right?
