Bored at work so I thought I'd go home and look to see how much slop was at the end of my throttle cable in my 96EB. With engine turned off (of course) I pushed the pedal to the floor then pulled the pedal back resulting in about 5/8+" of cable excess. Not really quite enough to fold over and tie with cable ties so I opted for installing a split topedo fishing weight and crimped it shut around the cable (between the cable's factory's crimped end and the spring) leaving about 1/16-1/8" of visable cable. Jumped in the vehicle and took off back to work.
All I can say is I might need to go to the doctor for a possible case of whiplash. My 96 almost takes off as fast as my 91EB---Weehaa!!
Thanks to all for the wonderful tip....
