Don't know how many of you ST guys check the threads in other forums, but a search in the ST forum revealed that this has not been discussed by Sport Trac owners.

I just did this earlier this week after ignoring it for over a year. I thought it was just a silly ricer mod with placebo improvements. Not so. I should have read all the reviews; none negative.

Not more powerful, but better and more instant use of the power you do have...and in a ST, you need all you can get sometimes. I'll shamelessly promote this free modification.

I just realized my security software was blocking my post count from increasing; probably for over 8 months or so...oh well.

Yeah, I've read about this awhile back. I did this to my Show truck but haven't gotten around to doing it on my ST yet, I was actually gonna do it this week, thanks for the reminder.

I did mine a looooong time ago. Really helps response time. I encourage anyone who hasnt done this yet to do it

so, my question is, why add the zip ties, instead of repositioning the cable where the cable meets the throttle?

There is no throttle cable adjustment on the ST. Be careful, a few have broken cables. (Todd Z @ Zabteck)

If your pedal cable spring is compressing the slightest bit while floored, you're on the stop and wide open.

I think I've had the skinny pedal to the floor two or three times since I've owned it. That's not really a concern for me. Good to know, though. Haven't heard that before.

This works on any cable actuated throttle. I even did it on my lawn mower :D

win!

As for the zip ties, I used three regular sized zip ties and that made the throttle wide open when the metal kisses the "metal".

Just did...That is awesome!!! Just got this 96 Explorer 3 months ago and I was kinda wondering why I had to floor it just to kinda creep off the line, once dieing on the highway in gridlock. Great cheap mod!!!!

Used 3 thick zip ties.

it really is a cool mod!

I was hopeful, but no luck. My 2003 ST was on the money.
