I have a 97 4.0 auto with 4wd and could use some explaining of the codes I am getting.

P1762 Overdrive Band Failed Off
P0732 Gear 2 Incorrect Ratio
P0735 Gear 5 Incorrect Ratio

And when I do the test with the vehicle running I get
P1000 OBDII System Check Incomplete
P1157 HO2522 Sensor Indicates Lean

Regarding the first three codes. I have noticed an almost grinding like feeling sometimes when I push down on the gas. I do not know if this is in fact grinding or just a bad vibration. I am not sure what relation this problem may have to do with the codes.

Regarding the last set. I don't know why it can't finish the test. As for running lean, I have replaced my IAC and have run injector cleaner through the gas tank. It chugs when starting cold and once it gets going the idle fluctuates a little bit.

If anyone could please help, it would be very much appreciated.

The band & solenoid for 2nd & overdrive (5th) are the same.. You probably have a solenoid that has failed, a band that has broken, or a valve body issue..

Drop the transmission pan to check for broken parts. A band adjustment would determine if the band is broken without dropping the pan. As for the lean code, have you ever done the TSB 00M12 intake gasket replacement? Check for broken vacuum lines first.

Have you disconnected the battery recently? I think the check incomplete means the truck hasn't been started enough times for the computer to be satisfied.

Yes, I have just recently had the cable disconnected. I figured since the light came back on I would already have the codes because I have been driving for a few days since then. I guess not though.

And no I have not done the intake gasket replacement. I will have to check for vacuum leaks tomorrow. I swear I can hear like a whooshing sound whenever I start moving.

I have the same Gear 2 incorrect ration code. Did you resolve this with a solenoid?
