Got a new muffler installed yesterday. To be honest, I didn't know which brand it was going to be. It's a serious workshop, they rebuild old classics (Mustangs, Corvettes from the '60s). So I just explained the guy that I'm looking for a deeper sounding exhaust but not louder. Something that makes it clear my truck has a V8 but nothing more.
They installed a Thrush Turbo muffler, it's mainly used on vintage cars (I suppose he really likes this old stuff). It sounds very sweet, pretty much what I was looking for. It does sound a bit retro
You can hear it inside the cabin when idling (low revs) or when really pushing it. But at normal cruising you won't notice.
