Ok another day, another problem with my 1996 Ford Explorer 4x4 XLT. Sigh.
When the temperature is above say , 85 degrees, when I start it up and drive off, there is a thumping sound coming from the under carriage. Seems like it is just below the passenger's seat (according to my son who rides with me a lot). Thump, thump, thump. Actually it's kind of a click-thump noise. Clump, clump, clump. I can feel the floor vibrate under my feet.
This does not happen when the vehicle is cold. It also seems to go away slightly if I drive for a long time.
I just had the rear brakes done. They said the front rotors were slightly warped and would need to be turned soon. I don't THINK that is the problem but I thought it would mention it for kicks.
Anyway, I sure would appreciate any and all advice as to what this could be.
PS: I cannot feel any pulsating when applying the brakes
