Ticking at Cold-Start Normal on 96XLT?

I've been told by local Dealers that a ticking sound is normal on 4.0L V-6's....especially when cold. When mine warms up...about a minute/ the ticking disapears. Granted, the weather here is cold, about 19' to 32'. The engine only has 40,000 on it.....and I have been using synthetic oils..(Mobil 1). Anyone else notice this. Other than this, this vehicle runs perfect....is it really Normal???

Doesnt sound right to me. I hear no ticking even on the coldest mornings. Sounds like your not getting oil to the lifters. Try changing oil filters. I use Pure one and 5/30 oil.
