Be glad you didnt lose the whole wheel, I had that happen to me back in Nov 2003 when my brother forgot to tighten down mine and lost the wheel going 65 MPH on the way to an offroading trip

Sorry to hear the bad news. Boomin had something like that happen to him a few times I believe.

Yeah, I was pretty lucky that all 5 didn't go at the same time......there would have been NO WAY to save it then. I heard a weird 'popping' noise, and felt a weird 'wobble' in the front. I IMMEDIATELY pulled over. We got a guy to tow us 10 mi. away,on his flatbed for only $70! That's a STEAL, considering I was quoted $240 JUST TO PUT IT ON THE TRUCK from another company! The X did fine driving it up on the truck (REALLY scary!), but after a 10 min. drive, I had to now drive it OFF the truck.......as I backed up, the 1 remaining stud/lugnut started to bend and the rim started to pull away from the brake rotor......I SLOWLY backed it down the flatbed....VERY CLOSE CALL! Before we loaded up the X, the tow truck guy said I had another 50ft or so and I would have lost it.....AFTER getting it unloaded, he said I would have been lucky to get another 20 ft out of it!

wow you are really lucky, thats pretty scary. i check mine all the time because the last thing i would want to happen is to lose control going 70 mph because of a wheel falling off
