Your transmission would **** an absolute brick, since it’s computer controlled. Even if you left the PCM in, the trans would still be looking for various engine sensors like the MAF and TPS.

You can go full analog…but you can’t do it halfway. You’ll need an old carbureted 302 AND an old non-electronic truck transmission that’ll bolt up…and all the custom driveline work to go with it.

What’s wrong with the current setup?

I wouldn’t bother with the swap, I’d start with an older Ford that wasn’t looking for the electronics.

It could be done, you’d need an old manual control AOD.

You’re a v6 now?

You would also need to restrict the fuel flow to 6-8psi and figure out how to wire up the dash and speedometer

Like they said this would be a complete “conversion”’

What is the expected use of this vehicle? If you live in California, like your profile says then you'll never be able to use it on the street cause it won't pass emissions. I've got a 68 cougar with a 302, I look forward to the day I ditch the stone age crappy carb tech for efi. All my new cars start and run fine, even when they sit for months or years, the cougar hates to sit for more than a few weeks.

sounds like might as well get tranny and transfer case from old bronco and build the whole thimg old school will keep you posted

Also, to get any real power out of that 302 you’ll need $$$ to spend on headers.
