timing chain

My 93 4x4 has 118K on it the timing chain probably has never been changed, what are the advantages of having this done? It seems to me to run fine but aren't you supposed to change it after so many miles?

For the most part you do not need to worry about the timing chain in your engine. It should last the life of the engine. Now, if that engine decides to go 300k miles, then you may need to worry about the chain.
