Hey all out yonder, I'm bumping along in a 1992 eddie Ex. I have some window tinting questions.
1) what is the factory tint on the back windows?
2) what amount of tinting would you suggest for my X?
3) what would the price be for the above tint amount?
Thanks for replying!:afro:

1. I have no idea
2. I have 20% and it seem dark, but not to dark.
3. $30 at wal-mart if you do it yourself. Took me about 3 rolls. Might be more for you, i didn't do the back 3 windows since the were already tinited from the factory.

I just had my X-Sport done... I had them match the drivers passenger, and the two smaller windows to the back and back side windows, I think the guy told me they were 15%, then I had them limo the very back window, and put a limo visor strip on the windsheild. Needless to say.. I can now pick my nose in private.. :D

Cost me $178.

The factory tint on my 96 is around 20% for the back doors, rear side windows, and back hatch window.

The factory front windows (Diver door and pass door) have a very very light factory tint

so the back is now 35% on top of 20%... close to limo

and my front drivers and pass is around 30% or something - I know this cause I got pulled over and had to go through inspection.... ( my state limit is 35% for the 2 front windows) and when they tested mine the meter said 30% which in turn they made me take it off :(

but about a month later I had it redone so it looks great again!!!!

The first Time I had it done it cost around $200... all 3m tint.

to redo the front 2 windows was $60

I've had my X tinted at 20 % on the driver and passenger doors and 5 % on every other window(front, 2 rear passengers, 2 rear cargo, rear hatch) and it's incredibly dark. The X is factory tinted too. Everything for $225, lifetime warranty. :afro:

Question for the DIYers: I have done the back three on a supercab truck. Are tinting power windows harder? It looks like you would have to remove the weatherstrip to get a good tint job?

they folded the weather strip down on my sisters malibu, but they forgot to put it back up. now everytime we roll tha windows up or down theres this horible loud scratching sound. me and my brother in law are gonna fix it once we quit bein lazy...

also this is kind of related...i want Red tint, but i want it like limo tint so no one can see thru. is that legal or even possible?
