Tinting side windows on a 99 sport

Hello-

Just wanted to see if anyone had any tips or tricks for tinting the small side windows on a sport?
I tried to do them this weekend but couldn't get it to work cause i couldn't get it around the pop out lever without it crinkling or ripping.

Just wanted to see if anyone has done theirs and what they recommend.

Not sure if it'll work on a 99, but on a 94 I disconnected the latch from the window and then tinted it. After a few hours and the adhesive had set, I cut the hole in the tint and replaced the latch, just not overtightening it because it will twist the tint.

Is there a certain way I can remove the latch?
I looked at doing that but I couldn't see how it would come off the glass.

Do i just need to unscrew the two screws on the latch that is attached on the inside wall?

Just want to make sure that if i take it off the window that it will go back on okay.

On mine, I used a pair of needle nose and an adjustable wrench. I hold the part that goes through the glass with one, and use the other for twisting the nut. Kinda hard to describe. I took the two screws off the inside wall as well.
