Hi guys. I need new tires for my 2002 Sport Trac. I'm looking for a tire with good value. Basically decent price and good performance. Do you guys have any recommendations? Thanks.

Pepboys has a sale right now, buy 3 get one free.

Clusterpup, thanks for the info. Any recommendations for a particular tire?

I went cheap and just got dekota AT for my trac. I really want BFG mud terrains but I have to save up for them.

I just put Toyo Open Country ATs on my ranger...I have 91,000 miles on my Mich MS LTX tires on my ST.

I also need tires soon. Waiting a bit to see how the Toyo's run.

I also just saw some Kumho ATs on a truck and they look good...anyone have any experience with either the Kumho or the Toyo?

265/75/16 Cooper Discoverer ATR

This is what I just bought. They seem to be good so far. Bought tires for 471.17 via a friend from where he works and get a $75.00 rebate from cooper

General Grabber AT2!! Best tires i've ever owned. decent price awesome tread! very quiet for how aggressive they are. I paid $525 for four through tire rack

If you don't off-road, BFG Long Trails at Wally-Mart are pretty good in rain and snow and don't cost a lot.

Went with the Toyo ATs...look great and ride great. Will see how well they hold up...certainly can't expect to get over 90,000 miles like my Michelins.

You have 91000 miles on a set of tires ............ on a Sport Trac???? That must be a record. With so many people complaining about getting 15000-20000 on theirs, what is your secret??

No big secret...my ST is 2WD, I do a lot of highway travel, and very little off road use mosty at construction/landfill sites. I rotate them every 15k or so, keep them at right psi and had them balanced 3 times during their life. I could probably get another 10,000 miles out of them, and they would certainly pass a state inspection, but with it being close to winter, wanted fresh tread.

This may seem silly, but I believe it...don't turn unless the tires are rolling. Many people will start their turn before they start moving...this eats up the tread.

No. 1 way to get good miles on tires...drive like you have some sense...

i got a set of primewell pa1000 from firestone and they were 120 a tire. i paid right round 800 to get them mounted and balanced and lifetime front alignment trhough firestone for how long i own my st. very good on both the highway and off road.

I got oversized Toyo AT on mine, no problems, occassional rub.

Duratrac

I just put the New Goodyear Duratrac 265/75/16 and I love them. They do rub just a touch on the front sway, but I am doing a shackle lift and TT to fix the problem.

They look awesome too and suprisingly quite for an open tread pattern
