I am in desperate need of a new set of tires on my 98 XLT 2wd. I am currently running P235 75/R15's but I feel like the car rides to high and in the wind it will actually drift over a lane if you are not really careful. I wanted to go to a P 265 70/R15 I have 3 tire places saying yes this tire will work, 2 tell me that Ford only recommends the 235 75.

Do you know if a lower wider tire will cause any issues like rollover?

Your help is deeply appreciated.

The P 265 70/R15 actually has a .35" larger sidewall than the P235 75/R15...

Tire size in inches - 235/25.4= 9.25in Wide 9.25*.75=6.94in sidewall height 28.9" tall tire

265/25.4= 10.43in Wide 10.43*.70= 7.3in tall sidewall 29.6" tall tire

You can put a 31X10.5r15 on your truck and it will not flip unless you're doing something horribly wrong, i would check the pressure in your tires, if you're drifting that much, there are a couple things that could be going wrong, but none of them are the tire size, from the factory that tire held up.

If you wanted a smaller wider tire, you'd need something like a 255/60r15
