I plan on replacing the Michelin P235 70R16 Cross Terrain Tires that have worn out at 54 k with Michelin LTX M/S P255 70R16 S , The installer at Sam's Club told me that if the 255's were an optional tire size from Ford for this vehicle that they would not warranty the tire if there was a problem.Apparently this policy has been in effect for about a yr. I know this will fit without any problems on a 02 XLT 4WD. Has anyone else encountered any problems such as this one ? I would expect them or any other tire dealer to warrant a mfg defect, I certainly do not expect them to mount and or warrant something that does not fit .

i belive the 3rd gen fits up to a 265 so you should be fine.

Yup Sams' club will now only go with what was an option for tire sizes or speed ratings for vehicles.. Tried to get tires recently for my sister and they wouldn't put anything other than V rated tires caused that is what the vehicle manufacturer specifies.

Yea it's getting ridiculous.
I have a '92 Cougar that I needed two tires for. I went to Wal-Maatr & told them I wanted a 205-75-15 in the cheapest tire they had. They told me they would not sell them to me because it was not a factory spec tire.

So I came home took them off the car & took them to a different Wal-Mart & got what I wanted. If you bring them in loose they don't know what they came off of & most times don't ask. :D

what one you go to ? i had them sale me some 35's for my f250 , got the flat and road thing for 9.99 or what ever , and they put them on the truck. then i came in to get them rotated and balanced, and they sead they could not tuch it becose it was not stock for that truck ! i sead , you fu ck heads i just got them put on here 2 months ago ! anywas i got all the money back from that plan i got with them , and told them to f off ! (THAT WAS IN HEARSONVILLE)

The first one was the the one in Independence. The second one was the one in Raytown.

I forgot to mention the Raytown store totaly F****ed up the balance. I could not go over 45 without the steering wheel shaking back & forth. It was worse than having warprd rotors.

Oh by the way Pugman, did you have a bad day on the beat or to many :chug: before posting. :D

its not just sams club... its michelin, they are very strict on warranty on their tires. if you send a tire back to warranty it out, 95% of the time it will be blamed on vehicle alignment, out of balance, or underinflation/overionflation. and will not warranty it for you. you would have to have a belt in the tire break (not an impact break) for them to relace it. thats why i dont like michelin.
