Ok. On my '04 X, it has a tire pressure monitor which displays in the message center when theres low pressure. I'm getting my new wheels installed this week once my X gets out of the shop. The thing is, I got spinners and I'm going to need flush mount valve stems, so, I can't use the valves from the stock rims. As I read, the sensor is attached on the valve. Did anyone run into this. Any suggestions as to what I should do?

Thanks in advance,
Philip

The sensor is either on the stem or 180 degrees from the stem. I would probably have to say that you will have a problem getting the sensor out....so either disarm the system somehow or get some new sensors.

My understanding is that it takes a special wheel to keep that system. Weld just came out with a wheel that is tire pressure monitor compatible.

Why would the wheel have something to do with the monitor though?

What I was hoping is that things would be easy and I can just buy new sensors that attach to my rims. I don't really need the system though, so if there's a way to do that, that'll be my last resort.

I'll tell you how this goes, I should be getting my X from the shop Tues or Wed

Ok I dropped off the rims today.

They said that taking off the PSI monitor will void the warranty. I talked to the guy in parts, he said it would void the warranty just on the PSI monitor. So I didn't get a clear answer. People would send me from one department from the next and really I didn't get my answer.

So I'm hoping the valve stem that's on my X's stock wheels isn't that long so the spinner wont hit it. The Spinner barely hit on the valve stems of the aftermarket wheels that the guy had on.

If it does it the valve, does anyone know anyway to fix this problem? I've heard of longer lug nuts for spinners, but I can't find anywhere (online) that sells them. I'm not really an expert at all this stuff. Can someone here help me out?
