What would be an optimal tire air pressure for normal street driving. I have 31x10.5x15 BFG ATs. Just wondering because i have heard so many different pressures lately by my friends of what to run...

when i had those on my explorer i used to run Max PSI which was close to 35 or 38...
I dropped it down to 28 to give it somewhat of a better ride...
sometimes it will take a little experimenting dependng on your roads also. As here in Mass. are absolutly the worst roads possible...

i have goodyears mtrs. what pressure should i run these tires on? same wheel/size setup as davids.

*note: one of my tires is wearing faster then the other three. why is that? the wear is localized in the center of the tire.

thanks
dre

the wear would be in the center if the tire is overinflated...you might wanna check that out.

I run my bfg 31's at 35psi cold all around.

My dunlop mud rovers 32' are at 30 front and 35 rear to keep the best wear and ride and my 31' mt/rs are at 30 psi all around there a bit stiffer than the mud rovers and wear quicker... my last set of tires were at 35psi kumho at's and lasted 48,000 miles it all depends on the tire....but you have to have your front end checked out and alighnment checked every 15,000 miles and rotate and balence often....expecally mud tires, like 3,000 miles to keep a nice even wear and longevity AT's 5-7,000 also keep an eye on the pressures every month but thats my .02
