tire question

hi. my parents are getting me a new set of tires for christmas for my 2000 eb explorer, even though i hate to get rid of the death tires so quick. i want some wider tires than the 255/70/16s. i was thinking of maybe some 265/75s or 275/70s. will they fit on the stock wheels? i am probably going to get some explorer pro comp add a leafs for tha back. which of these do you think i should get. also i was wondering if the pirellie scorpion ats are as good as the bfgoodrich at kos.

thanks. would i still need the trimming if i put on an add a leaf? mine is an eddie bauer and i dont know what it would look like with trimming. what do yu think about pirelli scorpion at's? they cost a lot less than bfgs, are they as good a tire?
