I have went through the posts about max tire size and i have a question. I was comparing the size of a 275/70 16 and the 265/75 16 and they came up almost exactly the same when i ran them through the conversion. Am i missing something here or is the chart i'm using off? What my goal for tires is to get the tallest and widest tire possible with no lift and as minimal trimming as possible or no trimming. They will be going on the stock 16x8 rim for now.

I know everybody is probably tired of these tire questions, but i'm just really confused here. I appreciat any help.

31.2x10.8 vs. 31.6x10.4

The 275s are wider and shorter. The 265s are narrower and taller.

For your goals and constraints, the 275.

Hey Alec, thats exactly what i was going for. I don't really need anything much taller, just want a wider stance. Thanks.

New question, came from a problem.

Ok, I have another question, but first the story.

Looks like i'll be getting 31's earlier than planned. I got a flat last night on the way home from work and it's definately not going to be repairable. So instead of replacing one tire i'm going to replace all 4.

My question is if i upgrade to 275/70 16 from 255/70 16 am i going to have a problem if my spare is stock size? With my current situation this came to mind and I just want to be sure that i'll be safe. I won't be driving on it a lot if it comes to it, but just concerned.

If anybody is interested i'm trying to decide between the Bridgestone Dueler AT/REVO and the BFG All-Terrain TA. From what I have seen, the Bridgestone has a better wear then the BFG, but i've heard nothing but good stuff about BGF and not much about the Bridgestone. I will be getting my prices today from my dad, he can possibly get me a great deal from his supplier which may be the deciding point.

Well it's pretty much a done deal. Bridgestone Dueller AT / Revo 275/70 16. I got a quote for about $620 mounted and balenced. It's a lot, but it's also a lot cheaper then most places.
