What is the best way to rotate tires on a 97 xlt with control trac.
Any one know what could cause the speakers to cut in and out. I changed the head unit and this problem still exsists. Is it the amp. any one know where i can get and other factory amp in excellent condition for a great great price?

Hey, you could try the "Search" function. That would give you some answers.

The rear tires come straight forward, the front tires go to the rear and switch sides. I cant help you with the amp, but start another thread in the Audio forum about the amp, you should get some help there.

i had the same problem with my speakers.. you need to replace them, i worked at Circuit City and they told me that our speakers (if they're factory) have a 95% chance there is a dead spot where when you hit bumps etc it triggers the speaker to cut in and out.. i replaced all my door speakers with the Infinity's.. very nice sound.. they're 99.99 a pair if you're interested..

I Changed all the speakers as well. (sorry I'd didnt mention it) and I am still having the same problem. I am sure it is the amp.

I used to do rotate that way with my last set of tires and notice that they were starting to wear differently and started hearing a (whow whow whow whow whow whow) sound which got louder and louder with more mileage (goodyear wranglers). Now I am running Futura Adventurers and its starting to happen again in the rear.

that is probably your alignment, they are feathering on the outside or inside more than likely.

I never rotated my tires. I just change 'em all after 4-5 years.

My speakers were also cutting out on me. I had my HU install done at circuit city in evansville...no offence but i'll never take any vehicle back to them, their harnesses are totall crap. The problem with mine was that the factory amp was screwed up, one of the channels would cut in and out, if you have a new HU do a amp bypass, that corrected mine. With the factory HU in all the speakers would work, but with the aftermarket HU in one wouldn't, what was happening is that my Kenwood had better error protection than the factory hu, it shut the output off to that one speaker....after the bypass i've never had a problem. Except with the harness circuit city put in. New speakers will make it sound MUCH better though.

Later
cp :D

p.s. After I posted I thought I should add a little disclaimer. Gensic I have absolutly no ill will towards you. Just the place where you used to work :)
