I have a 2000 Explorer XLT V8 AWD that I am slowly modifying
How large of tire can I put on this truck without having a lift kit and not have it rub or have to change my gearing? Looking at Discoverer s/t tires. I have the airride system on the truck and have not decided to remove it yet, so from what I have found I can't put a lift on a explorer with the air ride.
I have the stock 15" rims that are eaten up by salt and I am thinking about replacing those as well. Any suggestions on a Rim size. I am going to do some light off roading, nothing real intense. Mostly back country camping and stuff with the kids.
Thanks,
Additionally: Anyone have a good way to clean and refinish the OEM Aluminum rims if I don't replacement? The road salt they use here in Ohio has chew'd them up badly over time.
