i was just looking at Dueler A/T's on tirerack... then it struck me i cant just take these things back if i dont like the way the handle or ride.

Anyone had to return something to Tirerack.com or is this even possible?

I didn't even know that you could return tires to normal dealers if you didn't like how they handled or rode.

Yeah I don't think you can take them back even if you get them at a tire place. You have to rely on word of mouth, and this site is a great place to find info on a particular tire.

Was that a post pad to get to the 4000 your at???

I didn't know you were keeping track.

Just stating that when I got some tires from my wife's truck it had a sticker saying, "you mount them, you own them. I thought it answered nissanboy's question. That's all.

well the reason i ask is all firestone products offer a factory 30 day "test ride" and if i were to get them from Tirerack.com i guess i would be forfeiting my "test ride"

but yes most local tire dealers will take a tire back if you return it after a resonable amount of time if it doesnt ride good or handles poorly.

I've dealt with tirerack several times and they have impeccable customer service.

The tire dealer I use allows a 30 Day test drive. You don't like them for any reason, you can apply the money spent on a different tire. This is the link to their policy.

Town Fair Tire

They won't match tire prices found on-line but, they always sell me tires for the online price + $10-20 extra, which is worth the convenience.;)

Try looking around your area to see if any tire dealers do the same.

You can return them under the 30 day test drive that Firestone offers. The only problem is the extra fees for dismounting then shipping them back to Tirerack at your own expense.

well i have my own tire machine that i can use so mounting and balancing is free for me.... i can also keep the old tires to reinstall if i dont like these. Thing is cheapest i can find a 31 Dueler a/t is 75 more per tire at local dealers. that is more per tire than hipping on all 4 tires is.
