Tirerack.com Warning...

Tirerack policies are bullshit. I drove 3 hours to their store...I called ahead so they knew I wanted them for an Explorer and I already had 16" ST rims on my 95 XLT. i get there and they find out it was an XLT and told me they can;t sell me 16" tires since my truck had 15" from the factory. (It would have been really funny seeing them to try to install 15" tires on 16" wheels...but thats another story) so then I told them the 95 eddie bauer came with 16" rims so why can;t he write it up as an EB. He still said no, so I told him it was for a 2001 Sport trac that was at home on blocks. He said ok and installed 1 tire on the spare rim, and sold me the 4 loose tires. I drove down the road to discount tire and they installed the tires no questions asked.

Now on the other hand, when Jason went to get the same tires I have on his 96 XLT, we just went ot sears and they didn;t even think twice about it..they thrw them on and did a great job. If one tire place won;t do it go somewhere else. Even though tire rack has great prices, I'm not going back there again...and if i do the tires will be for my Durango at home ;)

Yeh, their policies are definite bullshit.
I had a friend who order 17" Cobra rims and tires for his Explorer, when he told them he had an Explorer they told him they wouldn't sell them to him, WTF! He got into a huge argument with them and they red-flagged his order. So he calls back the next day to speak to someone else and they tell him theres nothing they can do b/c the order was red-flagged. What the hell is their problem, went to a rim place here and paid a little more but they fit w/o a problem and it handles better, so why in the hell would tirerack say they aren't good for Explorers!?
Another friend belongs to the Audiworld.com forum (you guys should check it out especially if you like Audi's, they have some really nice cars there, my neighbor is on their with his APR S4), and someone on their had 19" SSR GT3's on their Audi S4 and it looked really nice. So he calls up Tirerack and tells them he wants to order the 19" SSR GT3's with Yokohama tires (can't remember the size of tires, but they look aggressive as hell). When they ask him what vehicle it's for, he tells them an Audi S4, the guy goes "sorry we can't sell you those wheels and tires for the S4 because it only comes with 17's standard" again WTF! WTF!, and again What The Hell Is Their Problem? I say fu#k tirerack and hope they go out of business for their stupid polices, don't mean to offend anyone here if they work for them, but screw em'. I was gonna order my rims and tires from there until I started hearing all this bullshit.
It's like they'll sell you the rims but not the tires, or they will sell you tires but say they can't sell you the rims, OoooKkk, that makes a lot of sense.
"We're sorry, 17" Cobras won't fit on an Explorer" my ass they won't.

I guess my friend should have said he was ordering the 19" SSR's for his "Dodge Durango" ;) I wonder if that would have worked. That would have been pretty funny if it did.

What is this with everything working for the Durango, but no other vehicles:confused:
screw tirerack :D

its because the Durango is allways in the shop getting the tranny fixed, and never actually on the road to have accidents.:p

Durango is allways in the shop getting the tranny fixed,
You know you have a bad trans when an Explorer driver badmouths it:eek:

Do you guys think it will past inspection.
If you're wondering about whether you will pass inspection by having larger tires on the vehicle the answer is yes.

I think everyone refers to the durango because it comes stock with 31X10.5 tires and thats what more explorer guys get.

If my friend told them he wanted 19" SSR GT3's for a Durango, and it worked, I would have LMAO!
Why they hell do they sell rims if they just tell you "sorry your vehicle comes with such and such wheel stock, we can't sell you the rims"
Tirerack = :shoot: which makes all of us :chug: :D

I couldn't believe they told him it won't work b/c the S4 has 17's stock, what kinda bullshit is that!?
This has also happend to a lot of people I know that ordered from there, b/c their prices are good and they'll ship you the rims with the tires on already, but what good is that scince they'll only fit if their for a Durango;) .
