to much lift issue?

thanks guys.

I will try to make it a good trail rig.

the to do list

1-position the rear brackets and weld them
2-check the u joints on the front axleshafts then put them in.
3-make a linkage for the manual t case
4-clean up wiring
5-brakes
6-wheel stud
7- tow hooks
8-try to tackle body lift?

The rear brakes look kinda wide and the front look like a pre 90s style slide type?
I also dont know anything about explorer so I will be searching and asking a few more questions for sure.

if you like the body lift keep it but ya know there is a lot of pressure on those bolts so whatever you wana do ya know. but deff keep us updated the people on here can help ALOT cause theve been there they still help me hahaha

awsome after I take care of the list I will need forum stickers and there will be video on youtube hopfully out weelin my buddy and his long arm 93 zj

I saw someone say loose the body lift; I believe with the V8 swap you'll need the BL to clearance the swap. Looked like a 3" to me you might be able to go to a 2". Not an engineer though so I can't tell you from a CG standpoint if it's going to make a heck of a difference between the 2 or 3.

Thats true about the body lift... It can be done without one, but he may have not set stuff low enough to take the body lift out...

What gears are in it? You've got room for 37's easy in there. maybe add a regear and some bigger rubber to the list if you have to keep the body lift anyway... kinda looks like a skateboard on 33's...

I belive I can get my hands on some ground hog style mud tires they are 36.5 x 12.5x15 with about half life?
I was searching and there seems to be atleast a hand ful of guts with 3 inch body lift, i do hear from a lot of people not to do one but it is already on it?

HERE are brackets and other things...

This Spring perch is bent out of whack! The idea of just bolting the perches on dosent sit well in my mind. Get the rear end pointed directly at the out put of the Xfer case and weld them up. After that make sure you have a double cardan joint and that the drive shaft is the right length and that should help keep the rear end from busting up...

If the front end is eating joints, try the full snap ring and TTB center slip shaft mods that 4x4junkie told me about in this posting (reply #10)... http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=272564

By no means am I a pro at this. This is the info I've been fed while researching the right way to complete the same lift and not have these issues bite me in the rear later... Hopefully some of the seasoned vets will chime in with other great ideas too...

Good luck, great find!

Most spring perches don't even have those stupid tabs. If superlift would just leave them off, people would HAVE to weld the perches on and this kind of crap wouldn't happen...

Those tabs that are bent aren't important... just cut 'em off, weld the perches on at the right angle.

I will get to that soon.

all of you guys here on this site are helpfull.I am glad there is a place to go to get great tips, and plain and simple great info.
