Torsion Bar adjuster 'tab' broke - can i fix?

Hi there, well yesterday, after adjusting my torsion bars DOWN a little (after an off roading trip), i heard a loud SNAP, and found a broken bolt, after getting the new bolt, and trying to put it in, i've discovered that it's actully the cast iron adjuster that has broken!!!!! The tip broke off, so now my truck has essentially no tension on the bars, and is about an inch of clearance over my 33"s (which in it self it odd i thought).

Anyways, can i fix this myself? I've ordered the part, which will take about 3 days, so i'm wondering if i can somehow do this?

very very easy fix. you will need a 2-3 arm puller (you can rent them for free at autozone). remove the 4 bolts holding on the assembly cover. next, use the puller to relieve tension on the torsion bar at the arm (there will be a dimple in it for the center bolt of the puller). tighten it down enough to get the clearance to remove the bolt adjuster thingy and slide it out. this will let the torsion bar and the broken arm hang down. slide the old broke arm off, and the new arm on in its place. reassemble.

I once had a bolt jamed in there, so i took it all apart, and it's not too complicated...

i've read the otgerh posts on this, however i'm not sure of one thing, does that actual adjuster just slide of when i've released the tension?

sorry to be such a pest, but you know what they say about preperation. so basically, i just relieve the tension, the bar becomes loose and then drops down, and then you just hammer it out?

i just went out and spurchased the gear puller? Only 14can. not bad if it'll save me couple hours worth of labour charges.

yea, once you get it pressed up were you can remove the little flat bar that the bolt threads into, then you release the puller and the torsion bar will hang down. then the arm will slide off. if the arm has never been removed from the torsion bar, it may take some slight tapping with a hammer.
