I was wondering what the torsion bars actually do? I think that they have something to do with IFS, but thats just what I was thinking. Any one who knows anything about this I would love to hear it. Thanks

YEah, basically they hold the front end up in the air.

Then wouldn't that put bad stress on the Torsion bars if you did a TT lift?:p:

It will put more torque on them at full compression, yes, but it's minimal. You'll have bigger issues with ball joints and CV joints long before you have issues with the torsion bars.

How long before I'de start noticing problems if I did a 2" TT lift with shackels?

Depends.... some people have issues right from the start, some people never have issues. I did a TT on mine about 2 years ago, and haven't gotten around to the shackles yet (planning on it when I do the front end parts this summer). There is no concrete answer on that one. Your results may vary. :)

did my tt about 2 weeks ago and no problems yet :) doesnt even seem to ride rougher like everybody says :)

i did a TT on my 99 xlt, that turned out to be a bad idea, $40 later on a $150 part, new CV joint in and another TT about to be done

How high did you go with it?

well, being that i was impatient and didnt take in considerations the limitations, i twisted it as far as it would go. dumb move, shoulda done it right

I did a TT a year ago and i have been fine with 2" of lift up front.

im gonna do it right today, with a tape measure, so i dont mess it up yet again

be careful !!

oh i will, theres a small margin of error this time since i found the right way to do it

Don't forget to double check it in like a week because I know mine settled about 1/2".
