I HVE A '97 XLT SPORT
I TOW MY BOAT ABOUT 1 A WEEK. MY ASS SAGS WHEN TOWING AND WHEN I AM NOT TOWING(NOT REAL BAD WITH NO BOAT). BUT A HAVE BEEN LOOKING IN TO HELPER SPRINGS. 1 I HAVE FOWND IS MADE BY HELLWIG ( THESE SEEM TO U BOLT ON TOP OF THE LEAF). AND THE OTHER IS THE REGULAR ONE THAT GOES UNDER THE LEAF.
DOES ANY BODY HAVE ANY IN PUT FOR MY ON EIGHTER SET-UP.

PS- MY BOAT'S APX. TOW WIEGHT IS 4000LB(IT IS A 20' VIP W/A V8-IF MY WIEGHT SOUND OFF GO BY THE BOAT TYPE)
 






I had the over style helper on my last rig..Did not sag..In fact, it made it ride like a covered wagon..
 






Your best bet for a "helper" setup would be to go with a set of air bags. With conventional helper springs you increase the spring rate wich results in what mdrut experienced "covered wagon" ride. Air bags can be ajdusted to the load. When the vehicle is unloaded they require very little air which doesen't affect the stock ride. Load up the boat and add some air, the truck will level out and the ride will not be as harsh as with helper springs.

WARNING: do not attempt to use air-shocks they are worthless.
