i've got my normal tranny guy coming to my shop to evaluate the tranny...he said on the phone if it's just the pump it's about 600 and they say a total rebuild could be 1500-1800 bucks so i told them to come here and check it out before i commit to anything...

the latest, my guy didn't show and after some talk with his office i've been shopping around...i found a local shop that will not only completely rebuild the a4ld, warranty it for 1 yr. or 12,000 miles, but they are sending a truck to pic it up for free, everything for 625...and yes, that price includes labor and material, all inclusive....i'm waiting to find out if it's for real, somebody pinch me...

they are going to rebuild mine and warranty it and the shop is close to my shop...it's a shot in the dark but this tranny for them can make or break them as far as i am concerned...if they do a good job i will definately recommend them and i generaly don't recomend people...they did add it might be an addittional 150 for torque converter on second chat and i told him i may not be able to afford it and he said he'll work it out, we'll see..

my X just got loaded on the truck and it's tranny adventure is about to begin..it sucks that the only highway miles it's getting is on the back of a tow truck, lmao...and i'm tired of my buddys going there goes tbars truck...

just got back from visiting my Project X at the tranny shop...it was terminal for the tranny...it did not look like it had been recently rebuilt and if by any chance it had, they used old parts...for example, the torque converter itself had been welded and not a good quality job at that...they had to replace the pump and some electronic parts, all the clutches , bands, etc...the six point was shot and had an over amount of play by a mile, so i was there for the truck to show up with all the new parts...to say the least, the price went up to just under 900 so i'm still thinking i got a good deal compared to 1500-1800 bucks...we'll see as the X should be home by thursday a.m. and then i still have to do the smog, keeping fingers crossed...

Yeah, that's still a good price, if they do a quality rebuild. Is it a tranny shop, or a general automotive shop? Is the guy doing the work an old guy? ;)

The tube is the fuid overflow and vent.

it's a tranny shop in an auto repair center...define old, lmao...i would say tranny mechanic in 40's and owner 60's...they were pretty straight up with me but i haven't gotten down to the paying the bill part...hopefully no hidden cost...it turns out to be amost half of what everybody else wanted,,,
