Tranny going?

ATTN: Opera House Tranny going/gone?

Today while I was offroad playing, I started backing up and heard a clunk and it felt like the tranny came out of gear and then I did not have reverse. Later when I made it back out to black top I found out that the forward gears were screwed up too. I have engine braking in manual low, I only have first and second gear, it is kinda tricky to get it to shift to second and when in second there is no engine braking.Fluid level is fine and there does not seem to be any slipping in first but when it does do the 1-2 shift it is very soft
Time for replacment?

Sounds like time for replacement. Mine did EXACTLY this one of several times it went.

A lot of fluff. This is just a cheap rebuild, which is ok. Master kit is just seal kit with clutches. No new bands or new servos. I just don't understand taking all the effort to pull the transmission and not take another 3 hours of easy work and $100 to replace the intermediate band. Don't forget shipping costs and sending the old tranny back.

Do you have manual 2? Reverse is made from low and high/reverse clutch (3rd) so you may have burned the high clutch. Well, it doesn't cost you anything to open it up. Just bag the parts in order. If there is a time issue a swap may be better.

With the shift lever in 2 I have forward movement.
Do you have any recommendations of manuals and rebuild part/kits?

I pulled the pan off and I have shavings in the bottom of it
I replaced the filter about 4 months ago. so did shaving go throughout the tranny or does the filter stop them, is the TC ok.
