Tranny Help Please!!

alright, i currently have a 92 XLT with the stupid A4LD and a custom pre-runner 6 inch lift up front with 150 coils (i did the work) and a superlift 4 inch in the rear nothing to special back there but. i am going to be doing a sas with a 44 in frontand a soa in the rear with trac bars on both sides, im gonna be running 38's and 40's im gonna swap to 5.13's a true trac in front and a arb in rear. i am also gonna be switching out the tranny but im not sure which one i should switch to A4LD, 4R70W, 4R44E, 4R55E, 5R44E, 5R55E, M5OD or even a a c4 c5 or a t not too sure really, im gonna be going with a dana 300 t-case tho. i HATE the first gen A4LD and i am thinking i want a manual.....i need help....

The easiest thing to do is to rebuild the A4LD into a Frankentranny or you could start swapping. Keep in mind that the other transmissions are electronic, and will need an electronic controller, and adapters for the proper engine (like the 4R70W). There is a sticky thread on a 5R55S swap in the transmission section.

i DONT want another A4LD they have given me nothing but bills for a rebuild about twice a year for the past two years. anyways i want a different transmission when i do all the modifications and im not sure which one i should go with... which one would be good with 38's and 40's manual or not (preferably manual) just whats a good tranny. basically

i would prefer a bolt up tranny no computer trash i hate electronics in cars you cant take a wrench to them and make em faster

Either a manual or something like a 700R4 with adapters would work.

The 700R4 is a GM transmission.
