Tranny question....

long story short my 96 4.0 is vibrating in the downshift from overdrive, took it to get looked at tranny guy said it is the valve body gasket....said it breaks up and lets grit into the solenoids....does this sound legit?

I supppose that is possible, I would check out the rear tanny mount first for any play
