Tranny shifts hard into gears

I have a 05 XLT 4.0 with 85K miles. The transmission shifts pretty hard when putting it into reverse or drive. Also, it shifts pretty hard into each gear when driving. Any ideas?

Solenoid block, and/or potentially the torque converter needs replaced.

I'm hoping it is the solenoid block. The hardest shift is into second gear. The truck only has 85K miles on it and has never been abused.

I recently had the same issue. I also had the OD Off light flashing rapidly. It turned out to be a solenoid.

Recommend getting the codes read as opposed to throwing parts at it.
