ok so I don't know what's causing it but my X has a skip to it under low to medium throttle. I don't feel it as bad if I floor it.

I don't know how to put it in words. It's as if there's a tooth missing on a gear somewhere so as it's going along it catches the first few, skips the bad tooth, then gets the rest before repeating the process. This skip is not noticed when i get it up the speed I need to cruise. Only under acceleration.

Any ideas on what is causing this? I'm pretty sure it's either something to do with the trans or diff, cause the engine is running smooth.

Just a hunch-
Check your Throttle position sensor ( key on, engine off) with a multi meter. look for any spikes or drop offs in the voltage.

It should be<1v at rest, and rise slowly and steadily to around 4 v as you pull throttle lever back.

if it's the diff, i think it would be a pronounced knock in the suspension when it misses, like something hitting the bottom of the truck. in other words, if it's a metal on metal thing, you would definitely know it. yours sounds more like an ignition thing.

or, it could also be fuel. perhaps the beginnings of a clogged fuel filter.
