I have a major clunking sound coming from what seems to be the front drivers side of my 1996 ford explorer awd. I'm pretty sure it's my transfer case but not 100 percent. This problem sounds pretty common in these models. Is it worth it to replace or will I keep having these problems?

The AWD cases are known for wearing out. If you're up to the modification swap in a 4406 I absolutely love having a manual t-case.

Edit:
Btw one of the easiest ways to diagnose is to have someone or yourself lay under or next to the truck and move the truck slowly to locate the clunk/tick/thump noise.

welcome

I to have a major clunking sound when my truck is in 4wd up near the front driver side. If it is the T-case, do they make new ones for a 94 or would I have to junkyard one?
