I wanted some feed back from folks. I have a '93 with an electronic shift transfer case. The transfer case works just fine...but...the case make some noise like the front driveshaft is out of balance. I have had the front driveshaft balanced twice. I have had two shops take a listen and the consences is that bearings are shot...both shops said about $550 for a bearing kit and labor.

Options:
1) Rebuild and hope that its just the bearings at $550
2) Rebuild and its more than the bearings
at $550+
3) New electronic transfer case from Ford at $1,800
4) New Atlas transfer case from Advance Adaptors at $2,500

I already have $300 in a new electric motor on the transfer case. I could deal with replacing the bearings...if its more involved than the bearings I thought I should look at a new transfer case. Has anyone installed an atlas unit yet? How would my $$s best be spent?

thanks
joe
