transfer case

my 99 eddie has auto, 4hi, 4low.......i want to obtain 2hi, 4hi, 4low...is this even posible? simple transfer case swap, or does it get simpler or harder?

Do a search for the Brown wire mod.It kinda tricks your t-case allowing you to have true 2wd. Heck of alot less work than swapping a t-case. I want to do the mod myself because I dont like my truck deciding when I should be in 4wd. That's my job! Good luck.

AUTO is equivalent to 2HI unless you go off-roading, or one axle for some reason spins faster than the other. .

yes i go offroading, i live on a top of a mountain in ny(hense snow)..... that auto crap has kicked in when i dont need it/ want it and gotten me in trouble a couple times, including shooting me over an embankment in the middle of what would have been a remarkable save...needless to say i know when i need 4WD and the brown wire mod is prolly gona happen!
