i have a 94 ford explorer xlt and it will only go into reverse. When i go to put it in drive it will not move. When you rev up the engine to get it to go and it hits a certain rpm it will make a loud popping noise. I need to know if this is maybe the trans clutch or if i need to go ahead and get a new transmission. Someone pleasehelp me!!!

I have a 97 ford explorer we have changed the transmission 3 times already and they all do the same thing they have all gears then a few mins later all the gears r gone and the o/d light is flashing. What could be the problem?
