Transmission and T-case option

Does anyone know if there are any compatible transmissions for the 4.0 liter? I know that we can get an Atlas II T-case for our rigs now, but I have an A4LD auto tranny that we all know is prone to problems. Is there another auto tranny that will fit and or a bullet proofing kit for the current one?

The only person I know of that would make your tranny bulletproof and race ready would be Doug of Dougs' transmission in Mesa AZ. He's not cheap, but from what I hear he's very good.

Okay, her it goes. I saw a modified stack car today and it had a powerglide transmissiom. What I found interesting, is it had a bypass valve that opened a go arround to the throtle body of the tranny. Acoording to what he said, is that it somehow allows the tranny fluid a bypass in the torque converter or somewhere to let the car travel at slow speeds. I was thinking, that if you wanted to run super low crawl gears ansd still be able to stop, this might be a solution. Anybody else ever heard of this or know enough about transmissions to understand it?

I believe either http://www.advanceadapters.com or http://www.jamesduff.com has adapters to install a T-5 trans...But I don't know that this is an idea trans for off roading...Just a thought though....Pete
