Hey all,
The internal components of my radiator failed and now I have ATF leaking into my radiator fluid. Not such a pleasant odour might I say....
The rad looks good on the outside and there weren't any problems with the coolant before the ATF started to leak in.
So, the question is: Do I replace the radiator ($400 CDN), or go to a rad shop and try to repair the internal AT lines or do I buy an external Automatic Transmission cooler and route the ATF through there and bypass the radiator alltogether?
If I do buy a cooler, how big of a cooler would I need to adquately cool the ATF fluid (I'm not planning to tow anything)
I can get a 4"x11"x3/4", a 7"x11"x3/4" or a 11"x11"x3/4" cooler. The smallest one runs ~$60 to the largest one that runs ~$100
Any help/suggestions are appreciated!
Evan
P.S. It's for a 95 Ford Explorer XLT with 360,000 kms
