Ok guys I need a little info. Recently been having some tranny problems. Torque converter was toast when I bought it so about a month back I had a new converter and new TCC solonoid installed. Now I am having an intermittent problem with the torque converter getting stuck in lock up and the engine dies when I stop. Restart put in drive stalls immediately. Doesn't do it all the time but it is getting more frequent and now I have a CEL. Can't remember the exact code but it wasn't P0743. I am thinking it's probably a wire shorting out somewhere but I can't seem to find the info on how to start chasing it. Want to start at the PCM and head toward the tranny. My rig is a 2000 AWD 5.0. Thanks for the help.

brake pedal position switch?

The brake pedal position (BPP) switch "tells" the PCM if the brake pedal is depressed when the accelerator is released so it "knows" to unlock the torque converter clutch to keep the engine from stalling. An easy way to test the BPP switch is to set the cruise control and then lightly tap the brake pedal. If cruise control disengages then the switch is working.

The brake pedal switch is working fine. I use the cruise everyday and if you so much as bump the pedal it turns the cruise off.

Still haven't had a chance to dig into it yet but thanks for the numbers. That gives me a starting point anyway. i'll post up what I find.
