Hello people !!!
Tonight the transmission of my reliable Ford Explorer decided to "break"
. I was ready to park it when it suddenly die. It was the stupidiest thing I have seen on a car. I put it on reverse, give a little throttle a kaboommm... a hard noise came out and the vehicle got to neutral. It surprise me !!! She won't do nothing in reverse shift, just neutral. Then put it on drive (D) and it advanced normally, without a problem. That gave me the opportunity to turn it around and park it. I test it again... put on reverse...nothing !!! Just a little sound like if she was trying to shift but the shift didn't engage. I'm so supprised by this !!! Beside the ball joints problems, my truck never gave me any other really BAD problem to complaint, just mainteance stuff like brake pads, tires, oil, etc. Brought it brand new, no other owner. Completelly stock.
Ok, here are the facts about my Explorer:
Year: '99
Model: XLT
Engine: V6 4.0L SOCH
Millage: 125,000 aprox.
What in the world would cause this ??? What could it be ??? I know that it sound$$$ bad : (((
