alright so im pretty sure my transmissions acting up again.

ill be cruising at around 45 in 4th gear. when i let off the gas it will start to make a loud clunking sound
as soon as the gas is reapplied it goes away. it only happens when the tranny is in gear and the clutch is engaged. so if the tranny is out of gear or the clutch is in the sound does not happen. ive also tried shutting the car off when the clunking happens and it still goes on. which leads me to think its tranny related.

any ideas?

i tried taking it back to Cottman Transmission where i originally got my clutch replaced. he said i must reproduce my reciept before any work were to take place. im almost positive its something they screwed up. what con artists.
yay bbb here i come!

could it possibly be low tranny fluid? if so how the hell do i fill the thing? Im pretty sure its leaking from the repairs they did...

well now its doing it in 3rd 4th and 5th gear when i take my foot of the gas.

any ideas? low fluid? broken mount of some sort?

I'm thinking transfer case is sounding like it might be responsible.

clutch fluid? you can add power steering fluid to it its the same thing....mine is on the drivers side fire wall i think, look at it and since your truck is a 5 speed it does not have a dipstick so you will have to jack up the truck and look at the tranny you will see a plug that says fill and one that says drain.....open the fill one and stick your finger in it as long as you have not driven the truck for a while it will be hot and if you can feel fluid close to the hole you should be good other than that look for the reciept....did you write them a check by chance? or look at your bank transaction to look for record.

clutch fluid is full. i guess next is to check the fluid level in the tranny itself.

and i looked for the receipt with no luck. i know he has a reciept he has to keep invoices. all business' do.

its not that im trying to go into the shop and he doesnt remember if i was a customer... he does remember me and my truck. I have a blower on my X and one of the first things he said was "oh the explorer with the blower on it" hes just trying to be a dick.

i hope karma kicks him in the ass. its dicks like him that take honest hard working peoples money in exchange for shotty work and poor customer service.

alright well now my ABS light is coming on.... could the noise and the light in any way be a related issue??

who would have said scanner? ford wants $50 to read codes.
